Since the Yankees and Phillies are out of it this year, I am allowed to have a rooting interest. And as much as I want to see Jeff Francoeur get a World Series ring, I am officially rooting for the Giants.
The deciding factor is the quality of Brian Wilson's playoff beard. It deserves a ring of its own!
(Especially since Ryan Howard was so distracted by its awesomeness that he forgot to swing at what the ump called "Strike 3".)

It seems to me that the Giants have the better pitching, the Rangers the hitting. Agreed?

I agree, for all the days when CLiff Lee isn't pitching.

Yup...
It looks like the Philly bats went silent during the NLCS, but if the Phillies kept Cliff Lee in addition to Halladay and brought in Oswalt, you could probably win that series with the Kansas City Royals lineup as your offense

You still need to score at least one run to win a baseball game, if you don't you'll be there all night.

If I didn't lose all respect for baseball I might care that the Giants made it, even without Mr. Steroids.
Go Sharks!!!

I think the Giants will take the series.
I was surprised but pleased to see Texas knock off the yankees. Heck around where I live, they were ready to make Friday a holiday because the yankees lost. Baseball fans were reacting much like when the red sox reached the world series.

I hope that was sarcastic.
I'm also rooting for the Giants. NL > AL and I feel like I owe them somehow for killing the Phillies.

Kind of. I liked Frenchy when he was on the Mets, but I don't mind that they dealt him. He never met a pitch he didn't like.
The only downside for me rooting for the Giants is that Barry Zito would be getting a ring to put alongside that ridiculous contract. But you can get too caught up in this stuff. Is there any justice in the fact that Jim Kelly never got a Super Bowl Ring, but Rob Johnson has one (obtained while riding the bench in Tampa Bay)?

I'm not sure how easy the Rangers will be to beat. Either the Yankees were sucking, or the Rangers are really playing quite well because they crushed the Yankees.

I'm a Yankees fan and was thinking before the Rangers won that the NL would give the AL champs a good fight in the World Series. I think the Giants will win in 6.
The Yankees were sucking in that ALCS. And the Rangers showed up and wanted it more. But this will be a good World Series, I'm ready for Wednesday to get here.

Not to get too off topic, but that called strike 3 WAS a strike. It was close, but not so close that you need to put "Strike 3" in quotes.
On topic, glad to see Texas finally get to a World Series and having been born and raised in Northern California, also happy to see the Giants back.
I'm rooting for the Giants but won't be terribly disappointed if Texas wins.
Prediction: Giants in 6.
All comes down to pitching vs. hitting. If the Giants pitchers can tame the Texas hitters, Giants should win. If Giants pitching fails them, they don't have the offensive fire power to keep up with Texas.

I thought the pitch was clearly low. But I didn't see the whole game; for all I know, the ump was calling that pitch a strike consistently all night.

Although I would have enjoyed a Yankees/Giants rematch.

Nah, I meant old-school. '62 was the last time they faced off, and I'd love to see a modern version.

Yeah, I was just funning. I've still got a dose of Phillies Fever. A retro rematch would have been pretty cool. But if the Phillies cant go this year, the Yankees can't go either.

Actually its an enema and the Giants gave that to them
The bats really have gone quiet for Texas, has the giant's pitching been that good or did texas just run out of gas after beating the yankees

^^I dunno, after hitting one batter and walking a few others, I'm inclined to think it's the latter.

The pitchers are taming the hitters AND the offensive firepower has more than kept up with Texas, actually.

3 starting pitchers with ERAs under 3.15 in the regular season + Tim Lincecum... Starting pitching doesn't get much better than that!

Great game, I suspected that the giants could have pulled it off. I never thought that their pitching would be so dominate .
Great game. Now I need to wait a few months before spring training - yikes
