For those who use/used Spymac, what do you think of the new "Spymac LeapFrog" site.
I used to use it a lot for pictures, forums etc. then they went to a new site design to make it look better, then I stopped using it. Then just this past week, they introduced again, this "Spymac LeapFrog".
I must say, I'm now surfing MacNN much more and really think Spymac is heading in the wrong direction.
Anyways, I'm now a MacNN site user.

I used to use the original Spymac site, and forums. Then, like you said, it seems the design and use of the site started to go in the wrong direction.

Welcome.
Spymac was always a subpar Mac site. Their performance and reliability was fair at best. I never spent a lot of time there, although I have occasionally peeked at it for years. That latest update is just sh!t.
I hope our 'NN redesign is gonna be better than that

The only thing I use Spymac for is "The Club". For $25US I get, 12gb of web space. 3gb email, 3gb web space, 3 gb gallery, & 3gb for blogging.
My main use of this is for my webspace and for ftp'ing stuff to friends etc. It's much cheaper than Apple .Mac.
But again, I find MacNN a much better forum to deal with.

Is that $25/mo or $25/year or $25 one time fee? I went to look at their site, but I got scared and couldn't find anything.

Per monty would be ludicrous.

It's $25 a year. I signed up a year ago.
Actually, at about the half way point, they sent me an email saying that I was getting a free extention since I had signed up already. So when my second year hit which was at the mid of Dec. my next year kicked in and cost me nothing.
For $25/year, I could not find anything that could be close to that. And they also have a mountable drive like .Mac has.

What the hell are they doing on that site anyway? I thought it was some kind of mac discussion area with focus on "unreleased mac crap" but now it's some kind of media portal or something.
And ya. Ugly as sin.
