[Updated with shipping date and price for the United States] Sony has unveiled a second generation of its existing Alpha A7s, with the successor adding 4K video to the full frame mirrorless camera, without the need for an external recorder. The Alpha A7s II uses a similar 12.1-megapixel sensor with BIONZ X image processing, and matches the original's expansive ISO range of 50 to 409,600, but its video capabilities have been boosted to offer 4K video at 30 frames per second and 1080p video at up to 120fps, allowing it to be used for slow motion recording.

The camera includes new profiles for S-Gamut3.Cine/S-Log3 and S-Gamut3/S-Log3, offering a wide dynamic range to help video producers, and a 14-stop latitude. Support for S-Gamut/S-Log2 is also included, along with a Gamma Display Assist that allows for images to be monitored during recording.

In terms of its specification compared to the original, the snapper has a five-axis image stabilization system, 169 AF points and an autofocus that's twice as fast as its predecessor, and an upgraded XGA OLED Tru-Finder with a 0.78x magnification and ZEISS T coating. Housed in a magnesium alloy body, the shutter's enhanced vibration reduction still allows for a continued shooting at 5fps in silent shooting mode, and the lens mount has been reinforced to make third-party lenses more secure. Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity to mobile apps is also included.

Shipping in November in Europe with a US launch likely to be at around the same time, the Alpha A7s II will cost €3,400 ($3,800) for the body alone.

Update: Sony's US site has confirmed a price of $3,000, as well as an earlier release during October.

in-camera 4K is friggin awesome. But for professional use, it's still recommended to get an external recorder like an Atomos Shogun or Video Devices PIX-7 for pro audio output and monitoring. So around $5K... plus sales tax... plus likely a Metabones adapter in order to use your non-Sony glass with it. That's still pretty awesome for 4K. For shooting time-lapse, no external recorder required. Also, most pro video guys should already have the external recorder.

You're right. Sony's US site released a later statement about it, advising of the $3,000 price and an earlier release in October. The post has been updated with this information.
