First, some boyfriend is going to be very sorry he shared a video. Very sorry.

And it looks like the foam is filler in the blocks to - I dunno - insulate them or something? Because it looks like those are actually concrete blocks. Not “hefty” ones, but definitely concrete.

My question is, did the driver expect the wall to stop him/her, or was that the original oops in this event? Like “D looks like R in this light” oops?

My best guess is they were idling forward and hit the accelerator instead of the brake pedal.

You can’t script that kind of thing. Slapstick gold, that’s what it is.

Anyone on two wheels must realize that “they can’t see you, but they’re out to get you”. In relatively self-preserving humans, this rule provides guidance for this sort of interaction. “He’s not signaling, but he’s slowing down…I’ll bet he’s turning.” Might have at least saved the scooter guy a trip down the storm drain.

I don’t know why this is, but you can determine the gender of a woops from the movement of the legs.

It's presumably sand under the water. He may have trouble sitting for a few days. And it looks like he whiplashed himself. He'll feel that in a few hours.

They're probably trying to pull a tree stump - you can see a nearby tree's shadow. The shadow didn't jump, so the chain isn't connected to the live tree.

But the camera followed the car - you can't even see what it's attached to. The camera man expected it to go poorly. Maybe just for the bumper to come off.

I would not have stood that close to a chain about to be tensioned. If it snapped, the chain would have gone all over the place.

Or, they meant to tear the block? The car - and the truck behind it - look trashed already

That is not a car I would expect to be sturdy enough to pull a stump, or another car, etc.

If you were trying to pull anything, you’d attach to the tow point, and not to the engine block.

Hers is like 100 years old or something. The plan was to get it framed but I’m not sure if that ever happened. The thing scared me.

Definitely a scoring shot.

It would take a lot of practice to get that one right. But like they say, no pain, no gain.

“This Go Pro just fell outta the sky. It was a miracle!” At least the guy only lost the camera, not anything “important to safely returning to earth.”

The tennis guy clearly saw the issue with the ball’s rebound. It remains to be seen if his reactions were sufficient to keep the ball from scoring.

Plenty of concussions and broken bones to go around, but somehow nobody ended up dead or paralyzed.

How could anyone NOT see that truck? Oh yeah, low IQ motorcycle riders are involved.

I hope neither rider was injured, and that the vintage truck wasn’t badly damaged. But all that slow moving traffic should have been a flag for the rider…something is going on, and slowing down is in order.

My formal motorcycle training course emphasized that. It’s almost always a good idea to slow down, sometimes a lot, when the situation on the road looks odd. Given most bikes’ power-to-weight ratios, it’s also always easy to goose it and power your way out of a problem - once you’ve actually looked at it and figured it out.

OK, lecture done. But that sort of thing (full leathers or not) paints everyone on two wheels as being crappy drivers, and I resent that.

FWIU, the street was blocked off, but the motorcyclist just went around.

With the truck, discussion said it's vintage enough body work is just welding and hammers, but the engine was toast.

If the road hadn't been blocked off, I would blame the truck driver. You can't merge into (or cross a lane) that is already occupied. Existing user has priority over new user.

But yeah, dumb motorcycle driver. This time.

Someone dosed it with gasoline (or other accelerant). Neither the liquid nor solids burn - it's the vapors they give off. Because it exploded all at once, the area was already saturated with combustible vapors mixed with oxygen.

The most readily available source is someone dosing it with gasoline. Like maybe the camera person, who didn't flinch with surprise as much as you'd expect.
