hi there. I have a iBook G4/933/14-inch that is about 9 months old. It has been great, but it is making a strange sort of clicking noise now. Every couple of seconds, like clockwork, it clicks like it is trying to do some process. It comes from somewhere under the top left area of the keyboard. It happens the whole time the computer is ON! It is very annoying, and I hope my computer is not ill. Any thoughts. thanks.

Do you still hear the noise if you turn the speakers off? If so, check the S.M.A.R.T. status of your hard drive using Disk Utilities.

I had a similiar problem with a clicking noise...it turned out to be my hard drive which was replaced under Applecare...it just got worse and went from a click to a clunk sound after a couple months. I got is fixed before it failed...
However your sound is coming from a different area than mine (front LHS)
I don't know if this is of any help to you
