Meh, after all that hype we only got maybe about three or four inches here by the time I snowblowed this morning, and maybe another two inches after. Is that all you got, Old Man Winter? Getting to be a bit of a pansy in your ripe old age, huh?
(of course, it is still snowing, maybe he'll dump 20 inches on just my house overnight for taunting him....)

Which airport?
I called my Dad in Queens earlier, and he said there was a lot of slush around. Which is tough to shovel if you're a homeowner, but the airports ought to be fine.
But flying today will be a nightmare even if your airport is clear, because lots of flights will be cancelled or delayed, (and sometimes a flight to a sunny place will be cancelled because the plane was coming from a snowy place) so the airport will be generally filed with ornery people.

As usual, instead of getting just snow, we get a foot of snow and several inches of rain followed by a hard freeze.
Snow banks turn in to ice banks and everything is just peachy.
Perhaps I should invest in a flame-thrower instead of a snow blower.

Heh. I thought the same thing.
Strangely enough, I actually do have a flame thrower. The previous owner of the house left one behind... Seriously. It's a long wand that throws a small flame... to burn weeds. I found it in my garden shed after I moved in.
I haven't tried it yet though.
