This video is funny, but not the way the author intended it. I think it's a great illustration of what MS Windows has done to the world. If you listen carefully, the guy's basic point is 'Macs suck because thet're not PCs'. Looks like it's just too hard for some PC users to unlearn all their backward MS ways.

Oh, who cares. A computer is a tool, use whatever works for you.

I run both Mac and Windows boxes (my username not withstanding). Windows has the worst UI design and image handling capabilities I've ever seen... but WinTel boxes have old-school ports (e.g. DB25 and such) that are a hell of a lot easier to hack off of than USB/Firewire. That being said, any time I'm doing non-hacking work, its on my macs.

This video has been circulating around the Web for years. It's almost certainly a parody of the early Switch ads. If you listen all the way through to the end, in fact, you'll find that a Mac was used to create it.
I do kind of wish there were good old-school serial port options for Macs (other than the XServe), though. As DeathToWindows points out, they really are great for hacking on.

Well, that's true. But then again, if you're "Addicted to MacNN", I guess you do care.

This video is literally 3+ years old. He was wrong back then... he is still wrong. He flips between OS 9 and OS X (whichever suites his rant).
I could make a similar movie about Windows flaws from Windows 95 to Vista, but it would be a feature length film.

I think it would be more of a 3 part Lord of the Rings-style epic saga.

It was actually kinda funny. Not to compare a Mac to a PC- but as a computer user- he does make some good points of the frustration of using a computer.

There are plenty of hardware hacking mags in Barnes & Noble that detail hardware hacking off the USB and USB2 ports.
Yes, serial was easy. It's also going away, just as pin through hole chips and wire wrap did before them. Now we have to deal with SMT and such, but oh well. That's the way it shakes out.

I made a thread about this two years ago. Even then, it was old, I think.

I could've sworn he was describing his experience using windows... maybe the stress of wrangling with windows caused him to confuse "Mac" with "PC"... or something.

The execution of the skit was fantastic. Yes, his facts are warped and askew - but that's a much better parody than the typical, everyday, run-of-the-mill ones we often see.
My favorite part? His discussion of the dock.
"...I can put on the bottom, I can put it on the left, I can put it on the right - but NOO I can't put it at the top! That's reserved for the [start worshipping and grovelling sequence] mighty blue Apple!..."
