Yeah, but hearing what we like/don't like should still be helpful, even if this is only temporary.

How do I turn off the auto-subscribe "feature"? By default it's choosing "instant email notification".

That big blue bar was so annoying.

MacNStein, I hear ya on this one - double and, uh, we're all "Registered Users" now - sounds like a convicted sex offender title or something.

Hooray for the blue bar going! The forum index text is smaller now too! Really strange to see the forums changing constantly like this, the backroom boys must be earning their 10 cents today!

Can we have the forum text links back at the bottom of the page now please? I used those loads more than the menu box, it was just easier to get around with those.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

"Subject" doesn't work with the email tag anymore. For example:
Code:
[ email= [email protected]?subject="I'm Too Sexy"]Too Sexy![/ email]
That should create an email link (Too Sexy!) and clicking on it should create an email to imtoosexyforthenewforumlook at sexytummies.com with the subject "I'm Too Sexy." However, it doesn't seem to work as it only creates the words (not an actual link, Too Sexy!). And don't tell me about the spaces on my code . I'm aware of those since I put them there so it would show up.

Also, the "bread crumbs" have not made their debut at the bottom of the pages yet. Hopefully they're coming soon.

Oh, and I rated this thread "most excellent" for bringing awareness to all

EDIT: One more thing! The page that displays the "Find all threads started by *Any User*" seems to be a little messed up. Basically, the headings are not aligning correctly with the columns. To see what I mean, check this.

Part of the reason for some of the crazy amounts of whitespace they're using is that vB 3 has some new features that we don't yet have custom icons for (e.g. the "quick reply" icon in each post header). Of course, they had to make their icons giant, so it stretches out that bar and makes things look siller. Once we get some new icons ready, these small changes should make a relatively big difference to the overall look.

Another part of the reason is that they really have just inserted massive amounts of whitespace in certain places for some reason. Especially at the bottom of the page. I don't know what the deal is here, but it'll be changed. A third part is that they've gone a little nuts with the tables (e.g. the quick reply box), so there should be ways of altering their code more significantly to clean things up some more.

Anyway, I'm sure most of you have noticed all this, but I was just making the point that what you perceive to be an overwhelming amount of space is just the sum of a lot of small things. This is the temporary theme, in any case, so hopefully everything will be clean once again before too long.

If you want to get rid of some white space, you can collapse the posting rules box.

Fuck this, I'd like to thank Gorgonzola, Nick, Demonhood and the other admins for going through the effort and doing this, even though I cannot imagine it to be either a high paying or even a paying at all job. I'd also like to thank them for remaning Cool, Calm and Collected in the face of User's Impatience, Ignorance and Idiocy (hereafter known as "3C in the face of 3I").

Thanks for all your hard work guys. I know you don't ever get much thanks, so just this once:

Well done all - very smooth upgrade - enjoying the new features, and totally understand about the temporary-ness. Good tweaks today as well.

I'd like to second this - I generally navigate by going straight to the "OS X" forum, then making new tabs for my usually visited fora via the links at the bottom. I can't with just the pop-up. And muscle memory is so hard to over-come

Thanks.

oh - p.s. any chance of making the quick-reply header bg a bit less.. Yellow - I'm sure it's meant to be prominent - but it's so... Yellow.
