I missed the Apple Event this morning and watched the replay on YouTube. Apple introduced the Mac Studio with an M1Ultra Apple Silicon chip. Is this goodbye to the Mac Pro?

Starts at $2000,$8000 maxed out with 128GB ram and an 8TB SSD
Edit: Apple Silicon Mac Pro yet to come.

And goodbye 27” iMac. It’s been completely removed from Apple’s website and store.

That surprised me to be honest, but it looks as if Apple is saying that if you want more screen estate and compute power, use an external display and a Mac Studio. I would have loved a 27" iMac in colors, but yeah well.
But at least what they did bring to market is a damn fast machine. The only thing I wish it had was ECC RAM.

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

the iMac pro was 4-6k.... so this seems like an absolute STEAL, and a huge bargain. I'm getting one, idk when yet. But it's happening.
