Hi all,

Can anyone provide any insight to the Mac Mini combination headphone/digital output?
I'm wondering if it is at all possible to bypass the Mac mini's internal sound amplification, so it will function as a line out. When I plug mini-RCA analog cables to my external amplifier, the Mini's internal amp is still on (OSX volume controls affect volume). Would using a digital cable to an external DAC bypass the amplifier?

I could not find an answer to my question in the forum, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
wk
