A sad day for many Pink Floyd fans.

RIP Richard

'The band released a series of commercially and critically successful albums including 1973's "Dark Side of the Moon," which has sold more than 40 million copies. Wright wrote "The Great Gig In The Sky" and "Us And Them" for that album, and later worked on the group's epic compositions such as "Atom Heart Mother," "Echoes" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." '

Just happened to be humming Us and Them last night, probably my favorite on the DSOTM album...it just floats along and carries you with it. I didn't know he wrote it. He'll be missed.

Mine too. I haven't played that disc in a long time. I'll get it out tonight and have a drink in honor of Richard.

...Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it—you've gotta go sometime.
If only in my minds eye, he and Syd are together; composing and playing the soundtrack to the cosmos.
are you lightfooted?

I always regretted being too young to have a chance to see them in concert.

Well, I guess we'll get to see him on the dark side of the moon.
What, me worry?

David Gilmour said it best.

Gilmour: "No-one can replace Richard Wright ... In the welter of arguments about who or what was Pink Floyd, Rick's enormous input was frequently forgotten."

I saw pink floyd in West Berlin in 1988. I was there for a high school trip and they were playing. I ditched the group with a girl and scalped tix with the majority of our spending money. One of the great experiences of my youth.
