Let's take a look at where we are, ideologically speaking. (Page 7)

As much as I'm against it though, it's not really a "hot button" the way a data vacuum is.
I voted for Obama assuming he'd **** up the economy, but had a principle or two when it came to domestic spying.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was thinking more along the lines of all the things he'd implement that you absolutely hate. I guess more regulation, higher taxes and an increased public aid are more palatable than killing foreign civilians and spying on citizens.
Edit: Interestingly, it seems like Obama did the reverse of what you were expecting.

I'd say Obama was the reverse of what I expected WRT to making us a police state, and then was furiously cockblocked on the economy.
Yeah, Bernie would try to implement all sorts of things I'd hate, but he's certainly the best shot at reversing course on our more Orwellian policies.
I'm forced to vote in the Democratic primary if I want to participate in local politics. At this point I'll vote for him over Hillary. In the general I assume I'll protest vote for the as of yet unnamed libertarian candidate.

It's depressing that practicality forces me to endorse Hilary. I don't know who I'm voting for in the primary, but the current system is rigged in such a manner that electability counts far more than specific principles and ideals.

The irony is he'd be completely electable if he just got in bed with the oligarchy.

He would? His ideas aren't too far left? (Honestly I haven't looked into his views in-depth mostly because its futility)

I don't think that really matters if you have enough money to throw at it.

As much as I don't care for money in politics, I don't think its effect is that binary. If that was the case Obama would never have survived 2012.

It won't elect him, but could make him electable.

Okay, so you two seem to think that when I said "They should be doing this at GOP stops" I meant a very specific instance, rather than protesting in general.

I'm only commenting on the apparent thought process of the two groups of protesters in question.
