Of course - it is now part of holiday tradition in some circles.

There's nothin' more tragic than a derailed train of thought. I mean, in my experience, it's like the derailment of a circus train -- horridly injured clowns and mimes scattered across the landscape, and rescue workers can't get to them due to piles of invisible boxes in the way....

I can attest to that. I spent last week in NYC, and on the ferry boat from New Jersey to NYC there were signs that said things like, "Merry Christmas," "Season's Greetings," "Happy Hanukkah," and even "Happy Festivus"

You mean like your very own MacNN poll? That would be cool. You should use poker chips as a way for people to cast their votes . . . or are you going to be daring and make it a public poll? Anyway, it goes without saying that you have to invite over all of us to take part in the poll. So, plan on eggnog and ChrismaHanaKwanzakaa cookies for 500.

PS: Don't invite marden or the poll will turn all political.
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.

Just make sure it's pure aluminum.

I'm not sure I could live with getting an artificial tree. Maybe if I was celebrating with a wife with breast implants.

But they look real!

Actually, I'm going away for a couple of weeks, and my gf is going away too, so no one around to water the tree.... next year I'll hack down a redwood or something more exotic.

You don't want a poll, but a pole.

I suddenly have this incredibly strong urge to watch the Xmas episode of Futurama.
Not sure why, I guess it just came to me.

Hm.

Meh! Somebody (me among others) has to work all the way until the 30th December...

But I really don't expect to do thet much - nobody call sin during the holidays... I hope!
