So, a song?

In that case, I’d call it unwise. Eating songs (especially if they’re on vinyl) is not very good for your stomach.

My dad always called the noon meal dinner. I grew up with: breakfast, dinner, supper.

I call the evening meal dinner. But I also call it supper. It is supper when it is less formal, and dinner when it is more of a production.

But I think Doofy is on the right track.

I never heard anyone call a mid-day meal dinner.

And in the evening: it's dinner 150%.

Madness. I've never heard lunch referred to as anything other than that. And the evening meal around here is almost exclusively referred to as dinner. In fact, I can't remember the last time someone used the word supper in relation to anything other than the Last Supper.

12:15 into episode 3, season 1 of The Big Bang Theory, Leonard goes off on a tangent concerning the dinner/supper debate.

Dinner, according to Leonard, is the biggest meal of the day, whenever it's consumed.

I love Leonard. The fact that he "doesn't get" so many social conventions seems so familiar...like someone I know...

Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Occasionally we call dinner supper, but mostly it's dinner.

And yes, thanksgiving dinner is usually in the afternoon, 1pm or 2pm.

We go out to dinner, never out to supper. Occasionally I've been out to lunch.

Snoopy always held out his food dish begging for suppertime, any time of day. I wonder which time of day Audrey II was referring to in Little Shop of Horrors when it sang 'Suppertime.'

I think every single one of us in this forum know someone like that.

And that someone is probably ourselves.

Correctly, actually. Also less fattening.

Most definitely. I see you appropriately omitted the "e."
