First off, sorry if this' been covered. I'm new to GB so, please forgive the newbie. How can I cut/copy a particular section of a region or track. In other words, just like in TextEdit where you can drag to select individual letters in a word or the letters of adjacent words, is there a way to drag-select sections of a track region and thus cut/copy?

You need to cut apart an object into the region you want to copy in order to copy that bit. Edit menu --> Split region. This will split an object at the point where the transport head is currently located (i.e. at the current beatmark in the song - where you last hit "stop").

If you copy and paste, the selected region will be pasted onto the track that is currently selected, at the point where the transport head is.

In Logic, you can Option-drag to copy, but I don't think that works in GB.
