Hi,

I currently use MPlayer OSX to play an .avi or .mpg files and I've been trying to get osx to change the file associations with no luck.

Currently they open with Quicktime, I've tried clicking on an avi and going into "Get Info" and then going to the 'Open with' bit, selecting ''Mplayer" from the dropp down menu and then pressing 'Change All...'

But after saying 'Are you sure you want to change all .avi to open in "MPlayer"' I press continue and it just goes straight back to saying "Quicktime (default)"

Anyway to get around this? Does Quicktime have some background app running keeping associations allied to it?

Please help, thanks.

if u change to vlc the .avi will always open in vlc. looks like an mplayer bug.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.
