who cares about hockey??? you score almost no goals, which leads to no excitement. I'm glad its out of the US and I hope it stays out for good. I hope that hockey is a terminated sport. The only reason why there are so many "hockey fans" is because people just want to see one toothless moron beat the crap out of another toothless moron, you can do the same thing by going down to south carolina and watch some hillbilly arguing with his father/brother about his sister/mother/wife/grandmother/cousin......

You are uneducated on hockey and I don't understand the correlation between the performance of the Cardinals (who made it to the World Series) and my cognitive ability.

HDnet has been replaying games from last year. I know, it isn't the same, but well...it is HD and it is hockey. Reruns of sports are better than most things on normal cable anyway.

And the new HD Wealth TV sucks so far.

As funny as that is, one of our sports columnists in The Calgary Sun has been doing this since the beginning of the season for the Flames.

... Wrapped in sorrow, words are token ...

TSN carried an entertaining match between St. John's and Bingham Senators at the ACC last Friday night. If the AHL product is always that good, bring it on!

Hockey's alive and well here at universal centre ice. The family and I have tix to see the Aurora Tigers this Friday. OHL product rocks !

how am I a retard if I dislike a sport? So if it seems that I am uneducated in a certain field (this being hockey) tell me how I'm wrong rather than just bluntly calling me a retard. I see hockey as an uneventful sport and if you think otherwise, tell me. I'd be happy to be able to sit on the couch and watch an exciting hockey match.....

Except that every 5 minutes something happens in hockey, be it a huge check knocking some poor sod out, or a fight breaking out, or something. I don't see how hockey can't be an eventful sport.

I do miss hockey. I've had to fill the void with college football, and that sport just doesn't cut it (the #4 team doesn't get to participate in the BCS???? WTF?!?!?!!?). On the plus side, at least I have more uh, free time.

Ricci came out of the stands and beat 'em all up, then stole the cup for the Sharks.

2 problems with that: someone doesn't always knock someone down and two, unfortunately, the NHL is creating more rules against violence. I have been to some hockey matches down at MSG, and it is a much better experience watching it happen up close.

You're not a retard because you dislike a sport. You're a retard for butting into a conversation in which you obviously have no real interest, just to be a d!ck.
_______________

It was a long fall without hockey. The winter promises to be even longer. Makes me wanna go out and buy a PS2 just to get my puck fix. Here's to hoping Thursday's talks prove fruitful.

I didn't butt into it, besides how did this post start?

I have an opinion, I have the right to express it. Again, if you feel that I'm wrong don't call me a retard, tell me what I don't seem to get....

Here is what I think you don't seem to get.

Almost no goals doesn't equal no excitement, the less goals scored the far more exciting it is. Basketball for example isn't really exciting at all unless it is a close game and there isn't anytime left. Hockey is like that all the time.

I don't know what you mean by being "glad it is out of the US" none of the NHL teams are playing including those in Canada. It isn't "out" of anywhere.

No hockey fans watch the sport just to see "one toothless moron beat the crap out of another toothless moron", it is a game of great skill and it is thrilling to see great players exhibit those skills. If your argument were true nobody would watch Olympic hockey and was we know the stands are always full during those games.

It seems that your opinion of hockey is based on ignorant stereotypes that is why you are getting flack in this thread. Everybody has the right to an opinion but if that opinion is not based on knowledge then prepare to be bitchslapped for it.

If there was hockey, tonight's premiere game would've been Edmonton vs. Calgary. That would've been an awesome game to watch...

Single game I've missed most was the October 30th Vancouver at Colorado. Would have been an interesting game, especially if Bertuzzi was in the line up.
