I'm not really in a relationship where celebrating Valentine's day is "mandatory" but I did get a couple of cards and some chocolates. Candy: breakfast of champions.

Heh, actually, no. Just not in a serious relationship, that's all.

As for the threads, they're different. The you linked is about what you are getting them; this one is about what you got.

i got a fun weekend with my female friend: dinner and shivering on a beach with a nice view of the seattle skyline, and then a full day of skiing in 6" of fresh powder.

I got iPod socks which is awesome, I didn't want to spend the $30 on them. Also got a black and white framed picture of us from the first day we met, which was about six years ago.

It's not super mandatory for me either, she almost forgot as well. Anyways, I got her an iPod mini, and she got me this bear that I can plug into my cell phone. It's cute.

My wife got me iWork early (Saturday). And a few other things that I won't go into detail.

I washed and cleaned her car yesterday and will try to get a card and some flowers. (She loves flowers).

Wow, very nice of you. I wonder what you'd do if were mandatory, heh.

My boyfriend gave me a card and a Powermate [link]. Well, I got a note that the Powermate is on its way, not the actual thing.

I gave him a card, some candy, and season three of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Nothing. I'm a hermit. I miss someone very very badly. I don't know what happened. Maybe someone lied behind my back. Maybe it was something else. All I know is I've been hurting for a long time.

I hate it- but sometimes I buy something and sometimes not- depends how the mood strikes. Mandatory no- but fun if spontaneous. I got a cute monkey thing- a Patriots book written from a fan perspective- (incribed "From your number one fan.") and a rose. So on the way home I picked up a bottle of wine- halfway done now... we'll see...

I got nothing. I did, however, give something for the first time.

Met a gal at work a few months back. I'm pretty sure shes interested. She has my number, I have hers. We're both shy and neither of us has called the other yet (I'll take the blame, I know). But we've continued with casual flirting for the past few months. I resolved to finally do something that made my feelings a little clearer.

So, I decided to get her three pink roses. I had wanted to do more, but had been advised by my numerous 'advisers' that overkill might be bad. So, I researched my colors, settled on pink and found a good local shop to pick them up at.

I was off work today, so I swung by the shop about 30 mins before she was to arrive at work and picked up the roses. I decided to be as down-low about this as possible, so rather than walk up to her at work with the roses in plain sight of 20 other people, I waited her out in the parking lot for a few minutes.

She arrived, I gave her the roses, she was blushy, I was a lovey-doofus... yadda yadda. Now, we see where things go.

It was a shitty Valentines day for a while. I have no girlfriend right now, and my roommate and his girlfriend were having a rommantic evening here with nice meal they cooked and wine. I sat on my Mac and listened to this ****... I felt depressed.

So, I went to work out... talked to this girl who I met a few times and got a date for tomorrow
