Was this always a feature or is this new? Oh, and why didn't Apple add AIFF support while they were at it?
Audio supportMP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Music Store, M4A, M4B, M4P), Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4) and WAV

Yes, it's always been there. But if you want to listen to WAV on your iPod Shuffle, why not just get a protable CD player?

Thanks guys. As for the portable CD player, a shuffle is still a LOT smaller.
