I have had many Apps stop responding

Adium
Firefox
Finder
Mail
Itunes

I am using a new Macbook 2.0ghz with 2GB of ram, I have done the hardware test a few times and everything checks out. It did this before I upgraded the memory so I think it is a software conflict.

I have

Repaired Permissions
Repaired the disc
Disabled start up items
Ran Onyx
Ran Cocktail

What else can I do to figure this issue out? This is my first mac and besides this I love it.

I completely formatted and reinstalled OS X last night and then I ran the AHT in a loop for 6 hours and still am getting the same results.

I am about to throw this thing.

I think I will have too, I mean if my ram is the problem shouldnt it of been caught by the hardware test OR memtest?

I will try the old ram to be sure.. but it did it then too, I just assumed then it was because of the lack of memory.

No, the most common cause of the beach ball is the app waiting for hard drive access. If it's happening consistently it's most likely the drive at fault.

Agreed.

Your problem sounds like a faulty HD.
