i registered ShapeShifter. Unsanity, you have my 20 of my hard earned (not really, i sold my old computer) cash. i tip my hat for making such a great product. i assume i'll be getting all the updates for free, right?

but i do have one problem: the guiKits don't open with ShapeShifter, and i can't make them open with ShapeShifter because its not an application. any tips or help?

You installed it and it still won't? Maybe you should try logging out/in, that may fix it.

Or, I believe there is an app in the pref pane bundle, you could try looking for that.

I have the exact same problem after a while SS stopped being associated with guikits. I looked in the prefpane folder and I can't find SS there.

i figured out to do it with another thread here.

first you show the package contents on the shapeshifter prefpane, then you navigate to contents/resources and look for an app called "ShapeShifter Proxy." copy that app to the desktop, then go to a guiKit file. get info on that, and go to the open with section. navigate to the desktop and select "ShapeShifter Proxy" and click "Always Open With." open the guikit file, and it should automagically open ShapeShifter. you can then delete the "ShapeShifter Proxy" app on the desktop, it opens with Shapeshifter always after that.

Glad you guys figured it out: Here's more info on both the temporary fix and the permanent fix.

Thanks for registering, fireside! Hope you enjoy it!

At the moment I don't have the money to register it, but I will be.

Definitely when Omega comes out (or 1.5) if not sooner.

for the people who do register it, you should give them a screengrab of Omega or something. you know, for that extra incentive to buy it.

Except this is the Internet, if everybody who registered got a picture of Omega it's an indisputable fact that the screenshot would be out in the wild and BBX would be POed that some Windows themer ripped off his work before he could ever officially release it.

Do people really continue to be so anxious for this theme or has it been relegated to some kind of running gag around here?

Ok, so SS would overlay the image with "YOURNAME LEAKED IT" translucently
