Since I installed my new Sonnet Serial ATA PCI-card in my G4, my display remains in sleep while the computer works, when waking up the computer after sleep (both automatic, and manual). When I remove the card, everything is working again. How do I find out if it is a faulty card, faulty PCI-slots, a bug in OSX 10.3.9, or something else?

Have you tried contacting Sonnet? Have you tried putting it in a different PCI slot? Have you tried upgrading the drivers?

Are you using Tiger? I had nothing but problems with that card and Tiger. I would just get KP's left and right. I took it out and sold it on eBay. It's not made by Sonnet so unless it's posted on there site there not much help.

Thank you for the suggestions! I am using Panther 10.3.9, but am about to upgrade to Tiger.
I have tried different PCI slot. I have upgraded the firmware of the card, reset the PRAM. What do you mean by "it's not made by Sonnet so unless it's posted on there site there not much help."? Sonnet Support has suggested several things, and actually sent me the latest firmware update. They have offered me to replace the card. But they told me faulty cards is very rare!! What is the alternative? I want to use S ATA.

Firmtek makes the cards, Sonnet just resells them. When ever I had a problem with the card Sonnet support basically said, "We don't make the card, only resell it so unless Firmtek fixes it we can't help you."

http://firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-1s2/

And Sonnets page says this card is supported up to 10.3, not with Tiger.

Good luck.
