Do any of you know if i can just have a cell phone and no home phone and still have decent internet? if so Where can i get the best price, i am not doing so hot on finding answers on Verizon/cinuglar's sites. thanks

Sure, I have just a cell (Tmo) and internet (Comcast).

Just call your phone company and tell them you want to cancel your landline.

you could save more money cutting down your cell phone usage and dummying down your phone line. In Indiana, you can get your phone rate as low as $18/mo and DSL as low as $19.99/mo - just ask to have NO long distance service - that's like an extra $5. It means you are unable to make long distance calls from your home phone, but that's what a cell is for.

Does your school/employer provide discounts through a particular cell provider? How many minutes do you use every month? When my Verizon contract is up, I'm switching to T-Mobile's prepaid plan - $100 for 450 minutes that are good for a full YEAR. I rarely use my phone and have a corporate cell phone, so it's going to be the cheapest possible route for me.

But you can't beat $40/mo for phone and internet... and to tell the truth I don't notice a difference between my DSL (which is 1.5mbps upstream) and my boyfriend's cable internet (3.5mbps or something?).
Sell or send me your vintage Mac things if you don't want them.

I use Cox Communications in Phoenix. We pay Cox for Internet and cable, then use Sprint for our mobile phones. We have no "home" phone line.
