Hello, I have a simple question, I have my iPod touch pluged into my G5 desktop and it charges ok when I am on the computer, but when I leave the computer and the screen goes dark, I find that the iPod does not charge, but loses charge. Is that normal, or do I need to take it to apple for a new battery ?

When a Mac goes to sleep, its USB ports shut down. Shutting them down means that there is no power there to charge your iPod, and its battery can discharge a bit just sitting there (though not really fast). You may need to look at your iPod's battery status and see if it's taking a full charge, and then how long it lasts in regular play mode. I'd also look into an AC charger, since obviously charging via a computer connection is "not perfect".
