I've got a HP 540 Jornada - don't suppose there are any utils out there that'll make it talk with me mac? Since it's running WinCE or whatever, that might be a stretch...any potential to reflash it with a different OS that's more likely to play well with mac?

I think you're out of luck. The first thought would be Missing Sync but it doesn't support WinCE devices, just PocketPC.

Maybe you can flash it with a new OS, but I've not heard of anyone doing that.

Actually, the Jornada was one of the first Pocket PCs out there. It should work with a program compatible with Pocket PCs, though its OS is the original Pocket PC version. It's ROM can't be flashed IIRC, so your best bet would be to use PocketMac (pocketmac.net) or some other syncing program (I've never used Missing Sync). Make sure you check to see that one of those two work with the original Pocket PC version (MS deemed it v3.0 or 2000, I can't recall which).

.. when I did a search.

Anybody using PocketMac? Is the price difference worth the Pro version? I just was given a broken one, and now that I have it working - the ROM card was unseated - I'd like to use it as a go-beyween for my Mac at home and my PC at work.
PocketMac looks interesting and the trial version does see my Jornada. but 40 bucks?.?.?

Somebody tell me it's worth it..

Missing Sync 2.0 for Windows Mobile just came out yesterday and I would look into that. I've just read about too many problems with PocketMac...
