Determine Carmine's fate in Gears of War 3, help Child's Play | Joystiq
Starting July 29, players will be able to buy two new shirts on Avatar Marketplace, one emblazoned with "Save Carmine" and the other with "Carmine Must Die." Each shirt purchased counts as a vote toward one fate or the other. The winning vote will then be implemented in Gears of War 3. We'd call it shameless ploy to sell virtua-shirts, but the proceeds will go to the Child's Play charity.
Carmine will die, and **** them for trying to promote the purchase of avatar clothing, charity or not.

Didn't Carmine already die in GoW 2? And I agree, **** them for trying to promote the purchase of avatar clothing. Although I admit, I would buy a "frosty tips must die" shirt if they were available.

Started out on this 20x XP event at level 51. Took me most of Friday night and all day Saturday to get my wings. What a ****ing grind. I'm sure glad that's over with.

Labor day weekend XP event has no cap
Labor Day XP Event - XP multiplier will be # of Gears Facebook followers divided by 1000.
As of Aug 19 they had 14,000 Facebook followers which means 14x XP boost. With no cap I wonder how it will end up.

True, but it is a good way to socially network on Facebook/Twitter towards Gears 3 if they've got a ton of fans/followers.

That doesn't make them any less desperate. Gears of War 2 did a lot to tarnish their image, though to be fair EPICs devs had a sense of urgency and responsibility severely lacking by the **********s at IW.

I'm still embarassed that I'll likely buy it. Let's hope those extra six months equate to less glitches.

They had no "cap" but they had a time limit (some time in the middle of saturday?) so it was still rigged. Looks like it'll be 25x. I may actually play if i haven't started a new game by then.

Here's my thing. Once I start a new game, I don't really want to interrupt it for Borderlands DLC or shit like this (partly because I don't care, partly because I'm terrible at adapting to control schemes quickly). I think it'll be Red Dead, though. Really amped for it. But I think I'll wait until after the Borderlands DLC is out. Wish there was a date for it though.
'Course you people might be balls deep in reach and question be moot.
Oh, and just to amuse you Bogues, I dled the Splinter Cell demo, and now I want that, too.

Red Dead is awesome, and if you get balls deep i would be more than happy to dive back into the west and hit up some co-op or multiplayer, not to mention any questions/comments about the game i'd be reacting too, as i put over 80 hours into that game ( and loved every minute).
As for splinter cell, it was a fantastic run and absolutely some of the most exciting and calculated missions i've ever encountered for a game but the short campaign/co-op campaign make it an ideal rental (although a long rental)

So long as you still post on these forums, I will.
I'll probably just pick-up splinter cell around xmas. Been watching the price and it should be $30, though I could easily wait until its $20.

I'm here, I lurk on a daily basis , hard to post from work, but as you get into red dead and we approach reach and fallout, my presence will be known as it once was.
Good call with splinter cell, I don't regret spending $60 but for $20 it's a good pickup

Damn Bogues. I'll hit you up with some co-op red dead! When you wanna go at it? And yes, that game is awesome!
BTW, did you get level 10 rank for sharpshooter? That shit's insane! How the hell are you gonna shoot 6 guns out of enemies hands without reloading?

Horde Changes:
"Torque Bow Tag": All Drone and Grenadier weapons replaced with Torque Bows
Multiplayer Changes (included in Horde as well):
Gold weapons (Lancer and Hammerburst) during the event.
Nerfed Melee (3 hits instead of 2)
Oh for fun I checked the XP calculator. Right now for me to go from 48 to 100:
Completing 1,675 waves on Normal
That's with 25x XP.
Wow is EPIC ever gay.
I have a feeling I won't be playing much.
(At this rate there'll be a 50x by New Years anyway – Only 800 waves of Horde!)

Are you doing the horde boost where you only play the first round? If so, why are you playing it on normal?

I am not doing first round only. That kind of gayocity is off the scale.
I picked Horde normal because that's public difficulty.

No it's not a glitch, it's much worse.
Basically team 1 enters the circle and captures the hill. Then all the members of Team 2 enter the circle at the same time. Everyone on team 2 gets 50xp for making hill neutral. Team 2 exits the circle and lets team 1 recapture the hill. Everyone on team 1 gets 200xp. Repeat the process until team 1 gets to 118 points. Both teams switch positions and take turns winning rounds. By the end of the match, you have a shitload of points.

It's really hard. Team 1 starts a social match. If they are paired with a bunch of bots then team 2 searches matchmaking and hopefully they will join team 1. This never worked for me.
I found it easier to just go into the King of the Hill playlist and randomly join a team. You can bet just about everyone playing KotH during an EXP event is boosting.
How do you know if the opposing team wants to boost?
The boosting etiquette is hold out your smoke grenade to let the other team know you want to boost. If they do the same... fine. If they start shooting you, back out and join another game.

Actually there wasn't that much work involved. A shit ton of people are boosting this weekend. I found a game within 10 min. I just finished my first match and I went from level 36 to 51.
Yeah, it's gay, but I could give a rat's ass.

So I got bored of BioShock last night and gave this try. I had forgotten how horribly different the mechanics are. I played 10 rounds of Horde and called it a night.

Yeah, I've always hated how you were forced to take your thumb off the right analog stick to switch weapons. Hold down the B button to run also sucks.
I really do hope they adopt a button layout that's closer to CoD or Borderlands for GoW 3.

Ugh... spent about 4 hours last night and finally got to level 100 at about 2am. I'm paying for it this morning. Thank God that's over! Time to work on the horde cheevos. Stogie, you wanna hit up the blood mount cheevo around 12:30 when I put my daughter down for a nap?

The next time I pick up Gears 2 is to play the campaign with someone so I can finally snag those achievements. Also to play on Insane.

At this rate, they might as well just hand out the wings during the Christmas xp event. You play one round of Horde and then BAM... wings unlocked.
