CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH NETFLIX.

They'll offer you a deal on the following screen for 3 to 6 months at a discount...

I didn't say actually cancel. Go through the steps to cancel, you will get a screen offering you a discount if you stay with Netflix, a last resort on their part to keep you.

I saw that screen. They offer you the chance to go on the
$13.95 Netflix Economy
Up to 4 rentals a month - up to 2 movies out at a time for a flat monthly fee of $13.95.
That is a regular option, not a special offer. (and it's also a really bad deal)

Sorry, you are not correct. My netflix was going up to $21.95 from $19.95 and then I was offered upon almost completing the cancellation process, $15.95/month for 3 months, and $14.95/ month for 6 months.

I just canceled my Netflix account to get the special offer and was NOT offered any special deal. Thanks for the tip.

So I immediately signed up again since I love the Netflix service. I better not get double billed. :-(

Ha ha... I think you will get billed... Why didn't you just call and ask for a deal your neighbor has...

I'm calling BS, but if it happened for real, I think it's funny because I got the deal offer...

Maybe they are just doing it in certain markets?

If you get double-billed, I think it is an honorable company, and am certain if they don't then offer you a month free (ASK FOR IT), then they'll credit you. Don't give it a worry.

You, Sir, would be part--a big part--of the reason the rates are increasing.

Actually, I'm part of it's success... I return the movies quickly... if more people watched movies and returned them quickly, there would be fewer complaints etc.

Think about it... At worst, they are spending (at worst) per month:

$9 for postage (which they aren't)
$2 in physically getting them out the door (and I'm guessing that's a stretch)
$5 in movies (but realistically it's lower because it's something they can use over and over)

The thing is, if the postage is off, or I don't get them in the mail FIRST THING on Monday or Thursday... the whole cycle is blown and they rake it in...

They have to raise the prices because they don't have enough people joining up...

It's almost worth getting two $22 accounts over one $50 account... You could use one account heavily and the other one selectively so you are placed on the priority list...

Thanks for the number. I guess a google search for 'netflix customer service' might have got me it, but sometimes I swear I completely blank on how to use the internet properly.

I talked to Netflix through the number and they took off the charge with no questions asked. Good Customer service netflix thanks.

I'll be happy paying a little more $ per month (especially now htat I wasn't double charged ;-) but it is a little steep for those on a tight budget, but truth be told I bet 99% of Netflix subscribers are going to cough it up because Netflix rocks, and 89% of those aren't going to even know there was a price change.

It's not like you can download DVD quality movies off the internet for $20 a month anyways, and not for a long time, and then that will still have to compete with netflix.

This is all crappy conjecture. Hopefully someone out there found this not an entirely waste of space.

I am glad you got it straightened out. You are welcome for the number.
