How would you describe the style of these shoes?

They're not 'boat shoes' like Docksides, or moccasins.

I can't figure out what search term to use in looking for them online...
There's no useful style or name information visible on them at this point.

These were made by Bass probably within the last 20 years and I am pretty sure that Subago used to make an identical style in the late 80's, but neither of their websites show anything resembling these.

Try "Moc Toe Oxford"

Timberland Men's Barentsburg Moc Toe Oxford Shoe - FREE SHIPPING at Altrec.com

Wolverine Boots and Shoes - Wolverine DuraShocks Explorer II Moc Toe Oxford

I haven't seen a pair like those in ages, but I do remember them being pretty popular...then the boat shoe took over casual leather

I think those are bit different. These have more of an 'unconstructed' design.

Oh, they are broken-in all right.

Thing is, I'm not the one who did the breaking-in.

They were my late father's and his feet were bit different from mine!
(smaller and flatter!)

I do enjoy wearing them, but I don't want to risk totally wearing these out...

That sounds like me and my brother. I have a weird, but very awesome, trait of having feet with no smell. I have shoes that are over a decade old and still smell brand new. Also, my feet are nearly identical to my brothers, except my feet are about 1/2mm larger all around. When he tried on my shoes he loves it because they always feel perfect for him.

Well, every year when my family gets together over holidays I have to keep an eye on my brother and watch him leave. He has "accidentally" left with my shoes a few times.
