Has anyone installed the Rapport security software?
One of my online banks wants me to install it.

I could see that it might be useful under Windows, but I'm having doubts about it in general.

Don't bother. Especially when you're on a Mac.

A quick search brings up a lot of people having system performance issues with the software, and difficulty getting it cleared off their system when they try to delete it. They're all Windows users, of course.

What kind of security software is it? Just common Windows security or something that this bank is requiring?

I've found that Microsoft Security Essentials is good enough. I get free copy of Sophos through work which I find it is pretty good.

It's fairly useless on the Mac from a use AND a performance viewpoint. Some UK banks like it to be installed, but I wouldn't bother.

I've had it installed for the past 6 months or so (my bank suggested it), and I kind of like it. It has three good things going for it: 1) it keeps my passwords safer than they otherwise would be, 2) it is free, and 3) I haven't seen any performance issues occur because of it.
