Difference between science and being a layman. Laymen have the latitude to assume frozen ice means it liquifies during the seasons. Science say you gotta wait for proof.

No idea if it liquifies, but its giant for missions. Purification equipment lasts way longer than stored water for the round trip.

Grossly underwhelming. Like all NASA announcements - these folks need a PR agent and a motivational speaker. Perhaps some sunshine as well.
Granted this water is found only in certain spots (the atmosphere takes care of that) - it is extremely likely that there are glaciers buried or caverns where pools of liquid water reside.
The benefit of all this is that humans can make a much safer trip there now we know we can get air, water, and fuel for the return - and that's exciting. And funny, because if we sent humans there 20 years ago, we would be 20 years ahead of what we know about the planet and not just planning a trip for 2030.
With today's logic, the moon landings probably would've just happened.

It is a so-so for me. I still have the newspaper article where NASA said that life had existed on Mars before. They showed some type of rock with worm-looking things on it. Not sure if that has been disproven since.
