Because of the unrealized potential of the A4 and A5, Apple will stick with the A5 for use in the iPod, and introduce an A5x variant with less graphic prowess than the new iPad, for the iPhone 5. That will disappoint the tech spec warmongers and undersized, while pleasing the tech pacifists who want to keep their 2010-level iDevices.
It may or may not also disappoint those who need a 4+ inch device, but that issue is still under the microscope.
A new case is in the works, but beta testers are being given 3GS-encased iPhone 5 units.
The iPod tough will be given an A5, A5x or something more appropriate. No word on whether it will be fatter.
The market has shown an infinite amount of non restraint, reason why AAPL holders can rest easy and retire in the morning.

And also a mohawk and gold chains, to reinforce its "tough" image.

The best upgrade of all would be a better battery, lower power consumption, iCloud 3G data compression and the killer VoIP app: EarTime (or MouthTime) over 3G.

Give me something sleek and thin. Dying for a design change. The iPhone is old and clunky. Needs a major design revision.

Really my only wish for the iPhone hardware is for a physically-larger display size choice.

The current iPhone is hardly chunky. And I'm sure you'll think the new one's super thin just because the screen will probably be bigger.

I think freudling suffers from Device Attention Deficit Disorder.

Sure, I love my Chevrolet Lumina!
It's LUMIA, not LUMINA.
Yes, I love the Lumia. We're actually playing with it tonight. Using the voice recognition and talking to it. It's sort of like Siri. You can ask your phone to do things and it will. Can't believe how accurate it is.
