Trying to clean up my hard disk a bit and I looked at the Cache in ~Library/Application Support for Elements. What are all these comparatively large Unix Executable files for? And what disaster will befall me if I delete them?

Thanks,

Lee

They're probably not actually real executable files at all. The Finder will label any unassociated files that have their executable bit set as "Unix executable" (since it's a pretty good guess).

If you want to find out, you can run 'file' on them in the Terminal to see if they're executable binaries.

They're probably just scratch files though.

Thanks for the info. After I posted, I did what I should have done before, and looked in Elements Help file. Told I could (and should) clear the cache periodically.
