Speaking of which, I'm enjoying some 1664 right now. I've always skipped over it at the store, but seeing as a few of you brought it up I figured I'd give it a try. Not bad not bad, and the bottle shape is cool too.

I've heard lots of stuff about Duvel, but never been able to find any in Canada. Anyone up here happen to know of a place that carries it?

(to be honest..it's like water and has to be served icecold but doesn't give me a headache)

Not your typical beer, and a bit too trendy lately for my tastes, but this is an amazing beer. Scientific American once did an article on it.

I know it's supposed to be good, but I just can't get into it. I'm just going to keep trying and trying and trying until I learn to love it.

Haha, I'm a college student in Wisconsin and even I'll say that **** is terrible. I refuse to do one more power hour with that stuff. After countless house parties, power hours, and beer bongs of that crap, I can honestly say it's prolly my least favorite beer...worse than Natural Ice.

In keeping with my couple-month-old committment to getting a different kind of beer every time I go to the beer store, I picked up some Tree Brewing Co. Hop Head India Pale Ale this weekend. I don't think I'm ready for that kind of intense-ness, or I'm just not such a fan of such hoppiness, or something.

Legend Brown Ale, and when it's in season, the Legend Chocolate Porter:
Legend Brewery

The Brown Ale took first place at the US Beer Tasting Championship last year in Chicago.

I've never understood why people like beer. The inventor of beer must have been like, "I like alcohol, but I wonder if I could make a bitter bad-tasting drink that makes me wince every time I take a sip."

I have never met anyone who did not enjoy this beer. I had one again this weekend, and boy was it ever so good (even if it did cost more than my dinner).

I'm a big fan of Baltika at the mo. It's a Russian lager that's been around in the UK for around a year.

I had Baltika last weekend at Brighton Beach. Dunno if I got a bad batch but it's really not very good.

And though Iike every quality beer under the sun, I have actually been drinking Budweiser lately. This is a new turn for me, it feels like sweet rebellion except it really isn't THAT bad. And it's cheap and easy to pick up at the local deli on the way home. Love the tall boy can.

Deuchar's IPA is also a fave of mine. It's a lager-coloured ale brewed in Scotland which is light and refreshing - not so heavy like a lot of bitters can be...

I've had it on tap at an Irish festival in Indy...I've been told that's about as good as I'll have it unless I actually go to Ireland.

There's an Irish pub that also has it on tap; it's great.

But I like it in the bottle, too. I guess I'm just a lame poser. OH SNAP.
