I've been using Photoshop for the past couple years and every so I run into this problem, and I keep forgetting how I fix it. I think it may have to do with my channels. I'll be creating something and I only get gray, no matter what color I select. I will only get different shades of gray. Now when I open my channels window it only shows "Gray" Should there be a RGB or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am in the middle of creating something. Thanks in advance!

Problem fixed! It was very simple after digging around a little.
It was set as: Image>mode>grayscale
I switched it to: Image>mode>RGB Color
