It's been quite warm here lately, too. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s, lows in the 50s this past week; not what you'd call seasonal.

On the other hand, we've had some pretty wide swings too. A week before Christmas we were having highs in the 30s... And coming up in a few days we should be back down with lows in the 30s and 40s, and highs in the low 60s.

9° and -8° here... also had to drive 8 hours on unplowed roads during that storm on Friday. Yuck.

On Friday it was misty-rainy here until mid-day, then it cleared up and got to the upper 60s. Saturday was a little damp in the morning, then cleared and dried out for the rest of the day. It cleared a lot by afternoon, and then got quite cool overnight - it was about 40 when we got up this morning. It was marvelous for the weekend “in-town/out of town” trip my wife and I had set up (long in planning) for The Riverwalk.

This kind of back and forth temperature shifting isn’t too odd for San Antonio, and neither is the damp to dry stuff. But together, touching? Not at all typical.

Luckily, the snow stayed north of us. We got mostly rain/sleet.

Yesterday it hit 79F here in San Antonio, and today’s supposed to be similar, with lows in the 60s.

Just last week we had a hard freeze (a bit later than typical for here, IIRC).

I have my fuzzy-lined house shoes out, my flip flops out, and I’ve been shifting between long PJs and shorts with athletic shirts for the last couple of weeks. I’m worried that my “smart” thermostat is going to get confused and start telling me “I can’t do that Dave.”

It’s supposed to be 56 today, and the highs are in the 40s and 50s for as long as their willing to predict.

I think we may have gotten through this one, though March and April are always good for a sudden snow squall or two.

We basically shot from the 50s to the 80s. There was like, one day of open window weather.

Also, had biblical floods recently for whatever reason.

Central Michigan’s flooding was also due to crazy excessive rains, which overwhelmed (probably way overdue for maintenance/replacement) dams.

Here in South Texas, we’ve had more rain than typical. And in more concentrated chunks than typical. The historical average rain for May (so far) is 3.98 inches. Over the last two days we’ve received about 2.5” officially - probably as much as 4” in some places. And officially we received 1.93” of rain on May 24 alone. Month to date (officially) we’ve had 3.78”...but that’s officially 0.81” above normal. It’s just weird lately.

Yeah... 3.3 is normal for us, and we’ve had close to 7. The one from the picture was really bad, but I don’t have the totals on me.

The river is actually supposed to do that. That’s all water that’s not in basements, except for the ~~Willis~~ Sears Tower, which had a pump malfunction. Took out electricity to the whole building.

Same here. Central Indiana jumped from pleasant late-April to oppressive mid-August overnight. 80s and 90% humidity.

Ugh. Today is one of those maddening Indiana weather days, where the temps aren't bad and there's a fantastic breeze blowing through the house, but the humidity is hanging around 1000%, so we need to run the AC just to make things a bit less gummy in the house, which means running it a little cooler than we want in order to get it to regularly cycle to keep the humidity down.

Here in Indy, we’re about 2 hours or so away from getting hit by the same front that just plowed into Chicago. We have the same alerts here, except for the tornado and beach alerts. We don’t have beaches, of course.

Good luck! Lots of downed branches. It sounded pretty horrible. Power barely stayed on. Friends a few blocks over are dark.

We were out of power for 24 hours. Spent the night at the in-laws a mile away who had power the whole time. We lost a few branches but nothing too big.

Local hockey arena lost its roof.

Not only have we gone SIX storms past the list of names for this year’s storms, (which makes Zeta #27), the storms have behaved less predictably, and as with Zeta, they’ve done lots of damage to areas well inland, like Kentucky and western Virginia.

Meanwhile, here in South Texas, we’ve had relatively dry, VERY cool (for here) weather this week. San Antonio’s low temperatures in October seldom get below the upper 50s; it was 38 Wednesday morning here in the SeaWorld area, and officially 40 both Wednesday and Thursday.

But the whole “climate change” idea is just made up nonsense. Right...

About 4 inches of snow on Friday, most of it gone by trick or treat time Saturday. We had about 20 bags taken from our socially distanced prebagged candy table, by mainly a few small groups, a couple drivebys that saw we had our lights on... but the streets were eerily quiet, with no gangs of roving children, no tailgating parents. It was a little chilly also at 42º, but that wouldn't normally stop us in our tracks in NE.

We normally get less than 7 visitors so we opted not to give out candy this year. We had our lights off but still did get one doorbell ring. I put together a scavenger hunt with clues for the kids so they could dress up and find candy and prizes. By the third clue the 7yo was leaving the candy behind and running to find the next clue.
