I'm now in my hotel in Paris trying to set up an internet connection via regular ethernet cable. what do i do wrong?

1. i make a new location.
2. i choose "built-in ethernet" as a network port.
in status the lamp is green and it says that "connected to the internet" and ip address.
however i can't open any page in safari, it says that i'm not connected!!

i tried booting windows via bootcamp on the same machine and connection works fine!

what do i do wrong?
please help.

Have you refreshed your IP address in the Network preferences pane? Sometimes the initial setup doesn't get all the data it needs immediately, and refreshing the IP should correct that.
