Whenever I click on a PDF in IE or another browser on OS X it downloads the PDF file to the desktop before opening it. Is there anyway to avoid this? If I can't setup the PDF viewer to do it, is there anyway to have it save them in a local folder that I could then get OS X to erase on a regular basis?

Thanks,
Josh

Acrobat Reader can't open files inside a browser in OS X. You should be able to change your download location by (in IE) going to Preferences > Receiving Files > Download Options.

I went throught this learning experience last week. I decided to send downloads to the Desktop instead of the folder I had designated. Now when I'm done reading the Acrobat files, I can trash them.
