Okay, get your minds out of the gutter

Seriously, for those times when the 12" monitor is too small, many have suggested connecting the iBook to an external monitor?

The video card is fine on it's own but how does a iBook 600 hold up when you connect it to a 15" LCD non Apple display? Is the screen redraw tolerable?

My 500Mhz iBook external connector defaults to 75Mhz at 1024x768. It worked great for me on an external CRT.

I second the CRT comment. Mine workes absolutely perfect on an external 17" CRT. Makes me want to go out and buy one but I just don't have the desk space... and LCDs are still a little too pricey for me.

I enjoy viewing the Mac displays both on my iBook and my 17" blue and white display (looks like an iMac). I can understand the need to occasionally enlarge the big picture you see on the iBook.

Please keep in mind that the 17" monitor is showing the same number of pixels as your iBook (unless you changed the resolution). So if you were trying to buy a bigger display, I don't think a 17" screen is worth the money.

Yes...I do!

I use the 600MHz iBook with an NEC 1500M LCD screen. I must say that it works perfectly. I was originally concerned about the pluging and un-pluging of the external monitor connector, but the connection is as tight as when I first used it!

Have no fear!!

I thought that powerbooks and ibooks weren't able to connect to apple's line up of lcd monitors.
