Hi!
I'm trying to move my old bedtime stories from cassette tapes to CD's. Does anybody know of a way to use USB or some other means of inputing sound to this otherwise excellent machine. I'm trying to use "The Analogue Ripper". Better sugestions are welcome.

Have you used this? Looks good, but the local store listed on their site is now dead. It looks like I may have to go mail order if I want it.

I got my iMic through the Apple Store. It is a USB device and I found the control panel to be helpful for regulating the input levels. Physically, you will need to connect the tape recorder's output to the iMic's minijack. I think it is a 3mm stereo jack. In this I plug the cable that comes with Toast Titanium 5.0.1 and it works well in Mac System 9.1.

I also just found an old encoder on a back-up disk. Haven't used it in ages but I did encide vinyl with it with good results. The software is called "Audio Catalyst" I don't think it's supported anymore though but you might be able to get it from twocows.
If you can't find it and want to try it mail me at [email protected] and I send you a copy. It's shareware, you need to register after 30 days.
