Second year in a row a red sox pitcher has thrown a no-hitter

This one is particularly touching because Lester had been battling cancer in 06, he returned in 07 (looked a little shaky) won game 4 of the world series and now pitched a no-no

that was my thought too but for some reason the Sox have had a difficult time with them.

I do think that this is great thing for someone who had gone through so much. He seems to be a good player that may turn into a great player and who seems to have his priorities right.

Lester's a good all around guy. I'm proud of him.

I have lived in Red Sox nation a long time, I can remember Yaz and Dewey, the Red Sox could never match up with the Yankees (or any good team) But that was then, this is now. Go Sox!

I heard from a co-worker that the major league is on track to hit 1000 fewer home runs than last season. Is that evidence of less steroid use among players?

lester is a great story - beating cancer, then throwing a no hitter...too bad he plays for the red sox

Back in the 90s after the strike, when players were hitting home runs left and right everyone thought thy juiced the ball. Little did they know it was not the ball that was juiced but the players.

Yeah, I think the drop off on home runs is directly related to less steroid usage.

If it's so easy to throw a no-hitter against the Royals, why hasn't anyone else done it??
