Quick question:

(and now that I think about it, I really should have searched for it)-Anyway, when I take a screenshot of my desktop it usually saves it as a .pdf. I have tried changing it to a .jpg by going into the info on it and changing its extention and it seems to work. But when I try to open it, Preview just sits there and shows me nothing.

No I go into Terminal and change its name. Same story.

Am I doing something wrong, or will it just have to stay as a .pdf.

Thanks for any help.

Open the file in Preview then select export from the file menu, then select whatever format you want and hit the options button for quality settings, save it, name it, whatever and you have it.

Here's mine. I'm no desktop hacker, but I like the clean background and the widgets.

Hey mike one, what theme is that, and where did you get it?
Is that F@H you are running? I tried it on my mac and it had trouble retrieving the work unit, couldn't figure out how to fix it.

Not really... but I know what you mean! Luckily the pic is only usually on the desktop for like 15 mins a day, so it is not too bad...

I was going to photoshop it out, but I love confused glances I sometimes get when 'windows' people at work glance at the screen and see 2 cursors!

Myself and a mate have tried a few wind-ups (as I have a few pics like this), and said that is is part of the multi user features of OS X....

We would plug a few mice in, and say that the screen can be split into up to quarters so four people control different things in the OS. Or if 2 people need to use the machine, say one wants to edit an urgent document, someone else can use the machine to do something else...

What is more bizarre is that some people actually believed us...

(Not funny I know, but at least it makes the day pass quicker...)

Peace,

Marc
