My new G5 arrived three weeks ago, and I’ve been loving it. However, since it’s my company’s first Mac in a decade, all the software we previously used on Windows needed to be upgraded to the Mac version. This hasn’t been a problem, except in the case of Photoshop.

I purchased Adobe Creative Studio Professional the day it was announced, but obviously it still hasn’t arrived. (Next week, maybe?) Anyway, in the interim, I was instructed to download Photoshop 7.0 Trial. It would last 30 days, I was told, which would tide me over till CS arrived.

Everything was great–Photoshop 7.0 Trial is identical to the full version, you just can’t use it beyond 30 days–until my G5 started having problems that prompted the tech to unnecessarily replace the motherboard. As soon as the mobo was replaced, Photoshop announced that my trial period has expired. (This, of course, is impossible; I haven’t even had the computer for 30 days!) Funny thing is, neither the Illustrator nor the InDesign Trials have this issue; they both reported an error and suggested I reinstall, which gave me 30 days from that point.

So is there anything (short of an Archive and Install) that I can do? Is there any way to let Photoshop know that it really and truly hasn’t been 30 days yet? I can’t wait till CS shows up; I’ve got a Monday afternoon deadline on this project!

Note to moderators: yes, I saw this thread, but this is different–I’m not trying to do anything illegal!

CheesePuff,

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I should have mentioned that I’ve already called Adobe, and they’re unable (unwilling?) to help.

Since you have purchased a license for Adobe Photoshop CS, can you attemp to download someone else's backed up version of the installer etc...
basically if you pirated the software off the internet, you would not be violating any copyright laws since you have purchased a license for the product in question, you would in the clear. Plus there is also the known fact that if you do this, you won't have to explain it to anyone anyway, but if you did you would not have broken any laws.

Don't flame me, its just a suggestion for someone in dire need of software that they own.
