Thanks for looking Demonhood...

It's so frustrating. I've looked EVERYWHERE for it (even searching PDFs from their website with the hope that it would be embedded somewhere. It's driving me crazy! It's the only piece I need for a larger project.

If you just need the bottom part, what I do to create logos I cannot find is to:
1. Open the file in Photoshop
2. Change to grayscale
3. Up the contrast until all black
4. Use the magic wand to select the part(s) you want
5. Create a path
6. Export paths to illustrator - it is now a vector file

Or use Illustrator CS2 and use live trace

I can't find a high res version to do this with. Live trace has limitations.

Whom are you making a project for, that you need the Penn State logo? If it’s for something connected to Penn State itself, shouldn’t they be able to give it to you fairly easily?

Or you could go there in person and find some letterhead paper with the logo on, and then scan it...

Yah, you probably thought of and dismissed both these options weeks ago, but it’s all I can think of.

Well, I found a PDF with a higher rez scan of the logo, but its not great if you really need this for print. Here are a few links that may get you a little further:

The following two are to a print business on campus. You could try calling them, as it appears the logo stuff is only if you have an account with their webaccess stuff.
MPC: University Stationery Guidelines
MPC: Online Stationary

The next contains the scanned logo. You may be able to use it if you clean it up.

Hope that helps!

It took a little hunting around the PSU web site but we have struck gold - I think I am going to bookmark this one and apply for a Information Forensics degree from PSU...

http://www.psu.edu/
Penn State News and Announcements
- visual and editorial standards takes you to
VisEd_HmPg030104
- graphic identity system takes you to
GraphIdentSys030104
- find the Licensing Programs Office in the copy and
Licensing: Home Page
- click the Graphic Artsheet button on the left
Penn State Artwork
- finally "download PDF"
http://www.licensing.psu.edu/graphicartsheet.pdf

you will need to open the PDF in Illustrator AND remove the CRP but you have clean artwork. I liked the suggestion of asking a client to get the logo for you... gosh I wish that worked...

I looked for HOURS for that... eyevaan, you are my new hero! I haven't inported it yet, so I hope there isn't some strange PDF security, but I think I could even get around that...

Again, thanks!

you're welcome - it always comes around.
BTW - I think the Copy Stop was placed in Acrobat so it should just pull out in Ill. Let me know if you need anything.

Wow, great job. I can't believe how 'lost' that information is on their network of websites.

Hey I'm a grad student at psu- I spent a little time looking for these myself and it was a challenge even as a student. Glad you found 'em!
