I realize Population and GDP don't make a country, but if Canada is in the G8, perhaps we should consider a few other countries as well. What do you think? Should it be G11?

030,007,094 - Canada

GDP:
$12.332 trillion - United States
$4.0 trillion - Japan
$2.271 trillion - Germany
$2.003 Trillion - France
$1.825 trillion - United Kingdom
$1.694 trillion - Italy
$1.450 trillion - Russia

Brazil

Actually Canada should be out like it was in the United Nations list from first to seventh place which is more like the real rank it should have, also Spain has a better economic growth than Canada will ever have.

There are significant qualifications for membership other than GDP. Canada is known for its large, modern, open economy, its freely elected leaders, its leadership in, adherence to and advocacy of the ideals of democracy, accountable governance and human rights.

Canada's economy is larger and has far more potential than any iberian country you can name. Monique, you're kidding yourself; you need only look to your north to the fields of black gold whose vast reserves will power your own province's economic growth past most other hemispheric jurisdictions for years to come as a small example of the economic potential this country has.
