Hi MacNN folks.

I have a 600Mhz Firewire iBook, and I recently had my screen replaced. The reason I had my screen replaced was that the airport antenna which goes through the screen was pinched (and damaged).

I am now seeing a random horizontal flicker. This has been happening for the last week, roughly once a day. The flicker lasts for roughly 10seconds at a time, then it returns to normal.

Could this be a problem with the screen connection to the mainboard? Maybe it is a problem with the graphics chip overheating?

I grabbed my camera and created a small iMovie when I last noticed the problem.

Quicktime MPEG-4 ~800Kb

I will probably get it taken in to get looked at soon, but I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on the problem.

i had a similar problem with my blueberry book. i found it was a broken wire in the video cable. i soldered it up and it has worked well since. but i think the newer books use a ribbon cable instead of a bundle of wires, which means there could be a bad plug connection, or the ribbon cable is pooped.
