So I purchased a WorldBook by Westerndigital and planned to have both my Macs run the same iTunes library.

When opening iTunes I hold option and it asks me to select the library file / location and that works. It then says updating iTunes on both machines and takes awhile to actually start...

it then shows all my play lists and my songs and files BUT when I go to play them, it tells me the file can not be located and to find them. I do this and then one song works but the rest do not.

What am I missing? all the music and library file are in one folder (iTunes) which worked fine locally and I simply moved it to my Network drive.

The iTunes Library files can only be opened on one machine at a time.

Keep separate iTunes folders on both machines, and keep only the media folders on the networked drive with aliases into the iTunes folder.

You'll have to add everything that comes in new to both libraries, manually, every time, to both machines.

Pain in the arse, but works.
