It's always his way or nothing. can't even rationalize with him. "oh but this'll cost us less money" "thing is dad, it's in an insecure location with many people having access to it rather than what we have now which is only we have access, and the area is completely secure" "it'll cost us $50 less a year" "what if the stuff gets stolen? damaged in the other place? the place we have now we don't have to worry about that." "I've made up my mind, we're moving it all to the new place" DUMB ARSE

Lots of passed down family items, nice things that can break if mistreated. He just doesn't see the big picture of things.

Seeing how I can't link to a wikipedia article for you, I can't really help you with that.

oh that's easy see you go to the wikipedia article that pertains to this dear dad thing. Then you copy the complete URL. You return here and just paste it in the message box. The forum will turn it into a link for you

This is my dad.

It has frustrated me to no end for almost 40 years.

This will end soon. Cancer is making him go away. I think I will miss the frustration.

I consider myself very lucky to have a father who is a rock of responsibility and reason.

My mother on the other hand, ooooooh boy.

My sig is 1 pixel too big.

He's probably just struggling to maintain the illusion that he is still knows best.

Rest assured knowing that you will have the say in picking out his retirement home.

And when he's gone you'll wish that he could be a dumb ass to you one more time. You'll wish that several times a day, every day. So enjoy it while you can.
