So i setup my external HD(160Gb) with four partitions. I did the work on a PC and thats where I used it mostly. Recently however I have started using it with my MacBook more and more. THe problem is that I can't write on two of the partitions. Is there anyway to change the permissions without reformatting the drive?

Did you format those two partitions as NTFS? If so, you'll need to download macfuse and 3g-ntfs to write to them on a Mac; OS X doesn't natively support writing to NTFS.

They are indeed Nt file system while two are Fat 32. By using these softwares I will be able to use the partitions without disrupting the data on the drive?

It shouldn't harm any of your existing data, but it may not run that smoothly (as in new data copied over from OS X), either, since it's not official Apple software.

Well, the drivers are reverse-engineered, so I'd back up the data on those NTFS partitions before using them, as if the developers turn out to have made a mistake somewhere reversing the format, they could mess up the partitions.
