First time user of an iMac (OS X 10.5.6 Leopard). Tried using Quick Time Player but said it wasn't a movie.
Is installing a Flip4Mac as a QuickTime plug in the only answer to get a WMV file to play?
Thank you.

Yes, Flip4Mac will allow you to play WMV files. Although I recommend getting Perian.

Flip4Mac and Perian are excellent suggestions.
Also make sure to get a really good video player: VLC

Flip4Mac or die.
No seriously another vote for Flip4Mac.
Also, either Perian or iSquint for .flv files, and/or a basic FLV player.
