I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

I heard from people who did that if you lower your expectations from the original Matrix movie, it was actually quite good an enjoyable. Once you take this genre-changing movie as your yard stick, you are effed.
Does that sound about right to the ones who have seen it?

I haven’t seen any of the John Wick movies, but my guess is those would be a much better use of my time.

John Wick 1 is good. The other two are fine, but they suffer greatly from the need to constantly ratchet up the stakes and stunts to where it's not just an angry dude, it's a superhero movie. Same problem with Fast and Furious.
Nobody with Bob Odenkirk is similar to John Wick 1 and is a fantastic watch.

I have seen only the first John Wick movie. It didn’t really do much for me. Yes, I get that the quality of the shoot outs are extraordinary, but the character of John Wick and his fate leaves me cold. I just perceive him as a psychopath who is not above mowing down many human beings for one dog.
I haven’t seen the sequels, but it seems that Keanu Reaves has consistently leveled up his skills with various firearms (as various Youtube videos can attest). So I reckon it is more for the people who like it.

Haven't seen any John Wick. Somehow missed it.

Not a fan of Nobody at all. Not my type. John wick was really enjoyable. Not going to bother with Matrix—looks like I was right about the Wachowski effect.
Dune was incredible. Only Part 1, but just the greatest IMAX movie since BR2049.

We saw dune in a smallish theater, and it was gorgeous, but suffered from too much staring into the distance. Pacing.

I managed to catch it in a real laser IMAX theatre (there’s not many in Canada) and it was pretty incredible, just filled the entire field of view.
It’s a little slower, sure. That’s a Villeneuve thing in general. Prisoners, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, etc—they all move at a stately pace. There’s no John Wick here.
